FIND Urges CDC GOV’T: Increase education allotment, give private schools subsidies

The Executive Director of the Foundation for International Dignity (FIND), Roosevelt Woods, has called on the Liberian Government to increase the allotment for education in the national budget and provide much-needed subsidies to private schools across the country.

Mr. Woods indicated that increased budgetary allotment to the nation’s educational sector will not only help to create good learning environment for students, but enable government to provide better salaries and incentives for public school teachers.

The Foundation for International Dignity (FIND), a pro-democracy and human rights organization operating in Liberia has ended a six month project aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, oversight and participation in post conflict Liberia. The project which was sponsored by the United Nation Development Programmed under its STAOP program was launched in July of 2017 through a bi-literal agreement between the two institutions.

Volunteerism In Liberia ----My Experience With FIND

While on my way home from work recently, I made a stopover to a popular entertainment center on Ashmun Street, Monrovia to amuse myself. 

No sooner did I disembark from my vehicle, I heard the voices of some young Liberians who were embroiled in a heated political discussion. Guess what they were discussing, joblessness-being without out a job.

"SAY NO" to budgetary allotment for political parties and institutions in Liberia - FIND

The Foundation for International Dignity (FIND) backs calls by Liberians across the country in asking the Honorable House of Senate NOT TO concur with the House of Representative on  the Bill seeking budgetary allotment for political parties and institutions in the country.

We believe this Bill is not in the interest of the Liberian people, many of whom are going through intense hardship and poverty.

Tracking service delivery with Community Monitors to curb down corruption in Liberia

FIND's new volunteer to Kolahun Primary School, Korpo Dorbor, has to keep her work clean. Only a month ago she was posted here and she has already started to frequent her office. “We must be available such that things do not go out of hand,” Korpo states. For over two years, Korpo has been monitoring service delivery in Zorzor district where she lives. In this district, she has been able to see services improve at a school where all her children go for education and the Lutheran Curran Health Centre which serves the community.
